Romulan is Grower 1's primary herb. He got it when a friend asked him to baby-sit a sick mother plant. For his troubles, he took a couple of cuttings. When this was found out he was made to promise that he would never give a clone to anyone. Sorry guys. The romulan name was adopted after visiting HBC in the summer of 97 with some bud. All the regulars, including Marc Emery, identified it as romulan just from the smell. Very unique odor. After inspecting and smoking the bud it was confirmed that it was definitely what they called romulan and was grown on Vancouver Island by Romulan Joe. Currently Romulan Joe supplies Marc Emery with hybrid (Romulan White Widow) seeds.
Romulan is a large plant that is not suitable for SOG applications.
It is grown by small scale comercial growers on lower Vancouver Island.
Standard setup is 25 plants in a 10 by 10 room under 3000w on a suncircle.
It likes to get 3 to 4 feet tall and about 3 to 4 feet wide and is usually
grown in 10 gal pots containing the Super Soil Mix.
Flowering takes 10 weeks. Each plant produces 4 - 8 oz depending
on conditions indoors but has been known to produce more than 1 pound in
a greenhouse. Bud is said to be about 3/4 sativa in character and
has a very pleasing pine flavour.
Dunc - is an unknown production clone that came out of Duncan, BC. It is supposed to be a high yielding SOG plant. On Feb. 1st, Grower 1 received the bottom branches of a plant ready to harvest and heavily infested with mites. He figures that the source really didn't want to share this clone. They rooted in a week but remain in flower mode and wouldn't grow. They have been sprayed with high nitrogen ferts, gibberellic acid, and fulvic acid. The GA appeared to cause 2 clones to stretch. March 10, it appears that three of the six clones are still alive and two look like they will revert to vegetative growth. One is starting to grow real vegetative leaves. June 7th, best clone kept, clones taken and then placed in flower room
Washington - another production clones obtained in the duncan area. Said to be from the University of Washington ... Yeah Right!!! If bud was from this clone, then this will be the most potent here, but still untested at this time. A clone went into flower on June 19th. Can't wait.
Grapefruit - a clone with killer potency from Vancouver, winner of an informal cannabis cup in Vancouver, BC
Early Pearl - an untested clone from Vancouver - culled from collection
Bermese - another untested clone from Vancouver - has been culled from teh collection
Brand X - another untested clone from Vancouver - culled from collection
California Orange - a 20 year old clone, a special gift from the US
White Weed - suspected to be a classic NL/Haze
Champagne - untested clone from Vancouver
Skunk#1 - reported as sensi original from Vancouver seed dealer.
Blueberry - Seeds (20) were purchased from Marc Emery directly and are believed to be genuine. They were purchased in two 10 seed batches about six months apart. Of the first 10, ten germinated and produced 5 females and 5 males. Of the five females, 2 smelled piney, and 3 smelled like blueberry. Of the three, one was a runt that wouldn't grow vegetatively even under 24 hour lights. The two remaining seedlings (BL-8, BL-10) were kept for production. Two males and one female were precosious and would not stop flowering regardless of light cycle. These were discarded. Of the remaining 3 males, two would not shed pollen (they would flower but the pollen would not drop). These were also discarded. The fifth male (BL-9) was by far the most robust and fortunately did shed pollen. It was used to pollenate select mothers. Two batches of seeds were collected before discarding the males. One batch of random crossings where all plants were used, and another (select) where only the two best females and best male were used.
Of the second 10 seeds purchased from Marc Emery seven survived the seedling stage and a round of damping off. They are also demonstrating the wrinkled and variegated leaf colchicine induced deformities present in the first batch. March 10, the leaves are a little lighter in colour and wider than in the first batch. Five have grown out of the deformities and two are still stunted and quite deformed. I ended up with 3 healthy females and one runty deformed one. Due to a mite infestation, the seedlings produced shitty quality and yields. I kept clones from the healthy ones and will test them again when conditions are better.
Romulan/Blueberry ( RBL) - is a cross between the best blueberry male and romulan. So far they are exhibiting extreme hybrid vigour. They were placed into bud in the middle of march. Yield results are here. This took an informal second place.
6 seedlings are off to the races.

1. Princess was obtained from growing out seeds found in buds of Jack Herer which was purchased in Amsterdam at the "Sensi-Smile" coffee shop, an authorized outlet of Sensi Seed Bank. Thus, it is considered to be an f2 generation Jack Herer. The seeds were found only in the deepest part of the buds indicating that the father was an unusually early-maturing JH that the growers missed at first.
3. Princess smells very much like pineapple both during flowering and when dried, but there's this "evil" scent in it too, like rotting meat, which has been linked with the most devastating weed (notably the Durban/Thai hybrid from SSSC, years ago). The taste is connoisseur quality when it's cured; VERY fruity. The high is almost too intense for a lot of people; dr.atomic actually refused to smoke any on our second meeting, after getting rather "hazed and confused" on the first sampling we did together a couple of weeks before, so he decided to try Shiva Skunk and found that more mellow and to his liking. Two hits of Princess will induce your body to tremble involuntarily and your heart to race and paranoid thoughts...very much like Haze, but not quite as intense. It also has a "creeper" quality that makes it easy to over-indulge...you get progressively higher during the first 10 minutes after smoking. Look at the May '98 issue of High Times' centerfold and find "Yellow Cab"...that's EXACTLY what the finished Princess buds look like. The "frosting" of stalked, capitate trichomes on the flowers and smaller leaves gives them a "furry" appearance much like Haze.
4. Princess grow vigorously, and is rapidly-maturing...6 to 7 weeks of 12/12. It feeds heavily and requires about 50% stronger nutrient solution than an Indica does. It stays short, for a Sativa-dominant strain, and finishes at about 3 ft indoors. The yield from such a plant is about 20 grams.
5. Mr Soul has been "cubing" the clone of Princess so the seedline will be Princess. The father is Shiva Skunk. He is currently growing out Princess.75 to obtain males for the creation of Princess.88. Seeds of the 0.88 generation will be ready by mid-July and should produce excellent plants, albeit not perfectly stable yet...but nearly. He plans to back-cross once more after that to arrive at 0.94 Princess genetics, which should be a stable, true-breeding seedline with females "replicating" Princess reliably.
6. This strain is exactly what most people believe doesn't exist; a
Sativa which grows VERY well indoors, stays short, and matures as rapidly
as an Indica (faster than many), and has the great KILLER Sativa high/flavor.
The yield is fine too. Mr Soul finds that the Indica strains are
too leafy/stalky and much goes to waste with them, whereas Princess
has an extremely high flower/leaf ratio and therefore almost no waste.
DTHH - this is a mix of the following:
Durban-Thai High Flyer (SSSC) X [Skunk#1/NL#5 (The Seed Bank) x Hawaiian
(SSSC)]
Skunk/NL - Skunk#1/NL#5 (The Seed Bank)
Durban Poison - 20 seeds were recently acquired from the Amsterdam Coffee Shop in Vancouver. The first 10 were planted on April 1. Mold killed 8 of the 10. The second 10 were planted on April 10. Six of these survived.
This very early strain from South Africa is a 100% Classic Sativa that
has never been
hybridized. Durban Poison has long leaves and solid buds with lots of resin.
The sweet liquor-like anise flavor and 'Up' high are typical for this high
yieling plant. These seeds are recommended for growing outside but
can be grown inside as well.
Flowering time : 8 - 9 weeks Height : 1.50 - 2.20

The trick is to not allow too much upward growth- on node 7 or 8, pinch out. Take bottom 2 branches off. You should be left with about 6 branches which will rapidly bush out to form a 'goblet' shape. These branches will, in turn, produce branches growing into centre of plant. These secondary branches should be cut back to about 3 or 4 nodes on the same day that flowering is started. Durban starts to flower very rapidly- you should see signs within a week. After about 10- 14 days, pinch main branch-tips off. These will have shot upwards to form a crown that will now fill out into colas. Final plant should be just over 2 feet from seed or 1.5 feet from cutting. High is totaly unbelievable- its like the first time you got stoned, but better- its clean, spacey, cerebral and euphoric. Yield is average, nothing a cash-cropper would be impressed about but for personal its fine.
Sweet Tooth - (grapefruit)(grapefruit/blueberry) - these were purchased from bongblaster via norm
Romulan / Strawberry Blonde - these were purchased from bongblaster. The romulan is probably a romulan/white widow hybrid.

K2 AK47 - 10 seeds were acquired from the Seed Bank of Canada. Although, Dave says that they are authentic, their $50.00 price tag has Grower 1 wondering. They were also planted on April 1. Mold killed 2 of the 10.
A 1995 Cannabis Cup winner. This is a very popular sweet

Some pedigree notes from around the net:
Skunk #1 = originally developed by the Sacred Seed Co. ( Cali/ Holland)
Sk#1 arose from an Afghani X a Columbian X a Thai. As far back as 1987
they were reporting it's stability to less than 5% deviation. Now
11 years later it has to be one of the most stable strains around.
-Wrong on the origin of Skunk #1. 1986 Cultivators Choice catalog said
that Skunk #1 was made up of 25% Afghani, 25 % Colombian and 50% Gold Mexican.
Jack Herer = Sk#1 X NL#5 X Haze ( This multi cross has been stabilized over the past couple of years and is now reported to be very even and consistant)
Haze = . First it was a hybrid between Mexicans and Colombians ....now it suddenly is a Thaiweed.
Shiva Skunk = Skunk #1 X Northern Lights #5 - reliable variety,
excellent hybrid vigour and yield. Indoors as well as in a greenhouse.
Taste and high are similar to Skunk #1, a rich sweet pungency, but with
more resin and better yield. High calyx-to-leaf ratio, you can almost
throw those scissors away as very little manicuring is required. An
abolute must for beginners or experts. Flowering Period: 45-55 days,
Height: 125 cm Yield: up to 125 gr
Williams Wonder = Is described as a special indica hybrid, that is short and squat in stature. It is a strain that was developed in the US. The 87-88 Super Sativa Seed Club catalog states that it can not be flowered outdoors unless flowering is induced inside first. So this indica hybrid was selected solely for indoor growing.
Durban = the 1987 SSSC catalog states this strain originated in Pinetown
Durban South Africa. Listed as a pure Sativa. AKA Durban Poison.
